Glass in the Garden

Today we decided as a birthday celebration for me (Heather) that the family (Papa and Grandma Marni included) would all take a trip to the Desert Botanical Garden to see the Chihuly glass exhibit. It was a little warm outside but there was shade and nice breeze, so it wasn't too bad. The flowers were gorgeous!
We were afraid that Noah would fall into a cactus or something so we kept him in his stroller most of the time. He did pretty good holding Papa's hand...
...but he did decide to sit down right in the path at one point.

Papa and Grandma had a good time with Noah.

Noah thought the glass sculptures were very pretty, although I think he just wanted to play with them...every time he saw one he pointed and said, "Oooooooo."

The exhibit was absolutely amazing. These are just some of the glass sculptures that were placed throughout the garden.

This one (above) was completely constructed of neon tubes.

Noah met some very interesting animals along the trail. It is kind of hard to see, but there is a lizard on the rock. This lizard was huge .
We are pretty sure that you aren't supposed to feed the ground squirrels cheerios but this little guy was really loving them.

We went into a butterfly exhibit while were there. It was fun for Noah to get to see butterflies up close and personal. He and Papa had fun touching the flowers and looking at the beautiful butterflies.

After we left the exhibit Noah and Papa drew some butterflies...well sort of...

At the end of the day we went to the gift shop and Noah discovered a few things that he wanted; a real cat and.......a stuffed wolf.

We had a great time!
