Dear Asher,
One...you are one! What??!?!?! When did that happen? It feels like we blinked and you went from our little baby to our little bitty boy. You have grown so much, so quickly. It has been fun to see you change over the last 12 months. We wish you would stay small forever, but we know that can't happen. So, we enjoy every minute with you and all the things you do at this age.
You are such a happy boy, and you smile all the time--we call you are "cheesy bitty." Occasionally you are a "grumpy bitty" but for the most part you are usually smiling and giggling. You love your brother more than anything and are also completely obsessed with your "dada." Mommy is chop-liver...that is unless it it bed time.
We want to remember every minute of your first year so we can tell you about it when you are older. There is so much that you have done this year, but just to name a few, you...
-weigh 20.15 lbs. (15%) and are 29.5 (24%) inches long (smaller than Noah was at your age).
-wear a size 3.5 shoe but don't like wearing them.
-started to walk (pretty much on your 1st birthday)
-can say, "uh-oh," "mama," "Elmo," and "more."
-point to the sky and say "br, br!" for birds.
-love to ring the wind chimes are are supper bossy about it.
-insist that Papa take you to ring them the second you lay eyes on him.
-hold your hand above your head and say "bu, bu" for bell and then just stare at the person holding you until they take you to the wind chime.
-had an interesting April-August because our house flooded and we had to live at Great-Grandma Ghee's for 4.5 months. You adapted to your new surrounds well, though.
-were stuck in your "baby cage" the whole time we were at Ghee's house.
-now hate being in your "baby cage."
-are very intrigued by mylar balloons.
-love the movie "What's the Name of That Song." So did your brother.
-like to watch Sesame Street and are particularly amused by the baby bird episode.
-had a Sesame Street themed birthday party.
-enjoy Daniel Tiger
-get so excited and giggle uncontrollably when we put on any of the Little Baby Bum YouTube videos.
-are starting to eat more table food
-have no problems eating dairy. In fact, you love it! Peach yogurt puffs are your favorite food.
-have a maniacal giggle.
-still nurse like a champ but only in the morning and evening now.
-take one nap a day for usually about 1-2 hours.
-are so snuggly we call you our little koala bear because you latch onto us and hold on tight.
-are happy just to be held and hugged.
-are very curious--you open all the cabinets and mess with everything. It looks like a hurricane blew through when you are done.
-love taking baths (Daddy gives the bests ones)
-hate being changed and make it supper difficult on whoever is changing you.
-love to push buttons and turn things off and on.
-love to bang things on the tile floor to hear the sound it makes.
-had your first studio photo shoot, and promptly dumped the cake off the metal stand so you could bang the stand on the floor.
-get cranky when you are tired or hungry
-love your family
-enjoy playing in the pool of toys at Grandma Barbara's house.
-love to crawl around on Noah's bed.
-love to swing in the backyard
