(Warning: this is long and there are a lot of pictures)
Several months ago I purchased discount tickets for the Desert Botanica Gardens on Groupon. Since last weekend looked like it was going to be our last weekend of nice weather, we loaded up Noah and our niece, Gianna, and nephew, Joey, and headed there.
Now, some people might not think that going to a garden would be fun for kids (eh-hum--you know who you are); however, the kids loved it. Noah and the kids are so into nature and animals that this was the perfect outing. Everything was in bloom; it was the most spectacular display of flowers I had seen in a long time. Plus, we saw tons of butterflies and other animals. It was a great day.
This bloom was the size of a dinner plate.
Sometimes saying, "Don't touch the germ-ridden dove," doesn't really do much good, especially when the stupid thing lets you touch it! Really?!!??
Beautiful glass Chihuly glass sculptures at the entrance/exit of the gardens.
